The laying of the foundation stone of the Vishva Dhrupad Gurukul in Jaipur by Ustad Zia Fariduddin Dagar of Mumbai at the residential premises of his student Sunita Avani Amin in Jagatpura, Jaipur marks the beginning of a revival of Dhrupad Classical Music in Rajasthan. Rajasthan has produced some of the finest Dhrupadiyas such as Baba Behram Khan, Alladiya Khan, Immamuddin Khan, Ziauddin Khan who was Ustad Zia Fariduddin Dagar's father at the court of Maharana of Udaipur.

Vishva Dhrupad Gurukul is now run by Sunita Avani Amin student of Ustad Zia Farid-ud-din Dagar who teaches in the centre of the city until it shifts to Jagatpura. The Vishva Dhrupad Gurukul organises the Zia Farid-ud-din Dagar Samman Samaraoh every year. She also organises workshops in schools and summer workshops at Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur. Vishva Dhrupad gurukul's Dhyana Studio is a space created for the meditative aspect of Dhrupad. The space is open to practitioners of Dhrupad for the sole purpose of Brahmnaad.
